The Huss Family

30 August 2007

DC. our travel journal.

we've been here for a few days now, enjoying the many museums and sites... our hotel is actually in downtown DC, which makes it easy to get around with the metro. today we're going to the body world exhibit in rosslyn va... the one from 'casino royale'... rachel is an anatomy expert, so it should be fun to follow her around the different exhibits and listen to her wax eloquent about the human body. at least there's one smart person in our little family.

last night we were able to have dinner with one of my mission friends, chris hare. it was nice to see him and his wife; catch up on old times.

today is our one week anniversary, which is nice, so i think we'll celebrate by eating sushi. rachel and i will look for any reason to celebrate.
for all you canasta junkies, which are basically just my parents, yesterday rachel nearly won in a single hand... i say nearly because when she went out i quit because i couldnt bare to watch her count all her points.

here's a movie quote for you.. see if you can catch the movie:
you work your side of the street, and ill work mine.

huss.

ps. i think you guys can comment now, i had it set on 'members only'... but now its 'anyone'... we'd love to hear from you. sort of.

My name is Drew Mccoy. I'm 28 years old. I believe in taking care of myself, in a balanced diet, in a rigorous exercise routine. ln the morning, if my face is a little pufffy, I'll put on an icepack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now. After I remove the icepack, I use a deeppore cleanser lotion. In the shower, I use a water-activated gel cleanser. Then a honey-almond bodyscrub. And on the face, an exfoliating gelscrub. Then I apply an herb mint facialmasque, which I leave on for ten minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an aftershave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm, followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion. There is an idea of a Drew Mccoy. Some kind of abstraction, but there is no real me. Only an entity-- something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze... and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours... and may be you can even sense our life styles are probably comparable, I simply am not there.
